All online versions of Dynamics 365 and Power Apps are fully supported, with every feature available. On-premise Dynamics 365, versions 8.2 to 9.x, is supported for duplicate detection only.

The trial gives you the full solution free for 15 days, no subscription needed. That is long enough to scan your whole database and get a complete duplicate report before you decide.

The Data Quality App is sold as an annual licence covering the full solution. Pricing is available on request, and the app is installed directly from Microsoft Marketplace.

No. You can create unlimited duplicate rules and data quality rules on any entity, standard or custom, and detection runs on unlimited records. The native Dynamics 365 limit of 5,000 duplicates does not apply.

Yes. With Allow Save Duplicate set to No, duplicates are blocked no matter where they come from: a user typing, a data import or an integration. The optional form script only adds the visual warning; prevention works without it.

Yes. Each duplicate rule can run as the user, respecting security roles, or run as the system, scanning all data regardless of the running user. Running as system never grants the user additional rights; it is only used for the scan.

Yes, Bulk Merge works on all writeable entities.

Yes. You choose which system view to use when duplicates are shown, and you can create a dedicated view with exactly the columns you want.

Yes. Results appear in the result window and in a report, and you can export them to Excel or PDF.

More than twenty rule types, configurable on any entity and any field, standard or custom:

Content: required fields, format checks for email, phone, web and post codes, minimum and maximum length, no stray spaces, no filler values like "test" or "n/a", must be empty, or your own regular expression for anything else.

Choices and numbers: the value must be one of (or must not be one of) the choices you list, numbers within a range, and how many options are ticked in a multi-select.

Dates: a date must be in the past, the future or close to today, or before or after another date on the record.

Across fields: two fields must match, two fields must differ, or at least one of several fields must be filled, email OR phone as one rule, not three.

Relationships and freshness: a linked record must still exist and be active, the record must have been modified or had activity recently enough, or have enough activities logged.

Your own logic: a Flow rule hands the decision to your own Power Automate flow, internally or against external systems.

Yes. Rules enforce the same data requirements no matter how data enters Dynamics 365, typed by a user, loaded by an import or written by an integration. The Data Quality Dashboard then shows each record's open issues the moment it is opened, so problems are fixed where they are seen.

Yes. Flow rules connect a data quality rule to any external data provider, so you can validate, update or auto-populate data in real time using your own logic.

No. The Data Quality App runs natively inside your own Dynamics 365 and Dataverse environment. Your data never leaves your tenant.
