Our Biggest Data Quality Release Yet

Some releases add a feature or two. This one is different. Over the past months, our team has rebuilt the Data Quality App from the ground up. Every single feature has been touched, redesigned, and tuned for performance. The result is the biggest release in the history of the app, and it lifts data quality management for Dynamics 365 and Power Apps to a true enterprise level. Here is what is coming, and why we believe it changes the game.

Rebuilt for the Enterprise

Enterprise organizations do not just have more data. They have harder data problems. Dozens of integrations feeding the same tables, teams entering records in a hurry, decades of migrated legacy data, and compliance requirements that leave no room for guesswork. A tool that works nicely on fifty thousand records can fall over when it meets five million.

That is the bar we set for this release. Every feature in the app has been redesigned with enterprise scale workloads in mind: duplicate detection, matching, merging, rules, and scoring. Nothing was patched at the edges. Each capability was rethought in terms of how it performs, how it scales, and how it fits into the way large Dynamics 365 environments actually operate.

Merge Duplicates Across Millions of Records

Performance was the headline goal. The new release can scan and merge duplicates across millions of records, the full playbook is in our Dynamics 365 deduplication guide. Bulk operations that previously belonged to specialized data migration projects can now run natively inside your Dynamics 365 environment. Scanning is faster, matching is faster, and bulk merge with a defined master record handles volumes that simply were not practical before.

And because the Data Quality App runs natively inside Dynamics 365, none of that processing requires external access to your data. Your records never leave your environment. That detail matters more, not less, as data volumes grow and compliance teams get involved.

A Rules Engine Without the Old Limits

Data quality rules have always been one of the most used capabilities in the app. You define what good data means for any entity, standard or custom, and let the app enforce it. In this release, the rules engine has grown dramatically. There are now so many rule types and combinations available that virtually any data quality policy you can describe, you can enforce: completeness requirements, format standards, consistency checks across fields, and much more.

Combined with prevention of bad data in real time at the point of entry, this means poor data gets stopped before it lands in your CRM instead of being cleaned up months later, when it has already spread into reports, workflows, and Copilot answers.

Everything You Rely On, Sharper

The capabilities our customers already depend on are all still here, refined and faster. Advanced duplicate detection with phonetic field matching still catches the duplicates that exact matching misses, such as Jon Hansen and John Hanssen. Bulk and manual merge still gives you full control over the surviving master record. And the built in Data Score still gives you a single, trackable measure of your data health, ready to monitor directly in CRM and in Power BI so you can prove, not just claim, that your data is getting better.

Why This Matters Beyond Our App

We are genuinely excited about this release, and not only for our own product. Clean, trustworthy data has become the foundation for everything Microsoft is building into Dynamics 365 and Power Apps, from automation to experiences driven by AI. An AI assistant is only as good as the records it reads. We believe that data quality at enterprise grade, running natively inside the platform, is what makes those investments actually pay off. That is why we see this release as a game changer for data quality management on Dynamics 365 and Power Apps as a whole, not just a milestone for us.

The release is in its final stretch now. We expect it to land on Microsoft Marketplace within the next two weeks. As an app certified by Microsoft, it installs directly into your Dynamics 365 environment. No infrastructure, no external services, and no data leaving your tenant.
